The North American Automotive Group, headquartered in Greenville, SC, is comprised of Safety Components Fabric Technologies, Inc. and Automotive Safety Components International, Inc.
As a result of significant capital investment, Safety Components Fabric Technologies, Inc. (SCFTI) is equipped with the latest in fabric formation technology. These advancements allow SCFTI the flexibility to produce a diverse array of technical fabrics. These applications range from air bags, fuel cells, oil booms, soft armor, filter media, fireman turnout gear, ballistic luggage, to aircraft escape slides. All fabrics are produced, tested and inspected to the industry’s highest standards. QS 9000 and ISO 9002 certifications were earned in April 1996.
Statistical process controls and an advanced continuous improvement program insure a facility focused on quality improvement and cost reduction. Over 1,800 continuous improvement projects have been implemented resulting in significant cost, process, production flow and safety improvements. Our fabric testing laboratories are ASTM (North America), DIN (Europe) and JIS (Japan) certified. SCFTI is the only company in our industry with global certification capability. Engineering, research and development and process improvement projects are conducted in the normal production environment to insure product consistency and lead time reduction.

Automotive Safety Components International, Inc. (ASCI) is located in Ensenada, Mexico, just south of the California border. Specializing in high-volume automotive airbag fabrication and airbag prototype research and development, our Mexican operations are supported by the most technologically advanced equipment in the industry capable of producing in excess of 6 million airbags per year.
ASCI continues to pursue the development of proprietaty automotive safety products and is a leader in research and development for the automotive safety industry. Our state-of-the-art prototype laboratory aids in development of experimental products vital to the emerging and expanding automotive safety market. ASCI's staff of engineers have outstanding reputations for innovation and teamwork and are always ready to respond quickly to customers' requests for design reviews, product testing and prototypes.
The manufacturing process is designed for maximum efficiency utilizing a vast inventory of high-tech precision equipment including high-speed fabric laser cutters, semi-automated folding machines, multi-purpose CNC sewing machines and customized test and metal detection equipment.
