Safety Components Fabric Technologies (SCFTI), is a leading North American producer of high quality, technical fabrics for soft-sided luggage, backpack, and carrying case applications.  SCFTI has invested millions in the latest state of the art fabric forming technology and is the supplier of choice to the highest quality luggage manufacturers such as Tumi.

SCFTI is most well known as the original and highest quality supplier of nylon ballistic fabrics for luggage and specialty applications.  Today, SCFTI has the commanding share of luggage ballistics due to our continued quality and product development improvements.  Our products are second to none.

SCFTI’s mission is to continually develop innovative and cutting edge fabrics utilizing only the highest quality, high strength raw materials available in today’s global marketplace.  We are not a producer of commodity luggage fabrics.  Our product development staff works in conjunction with our customers to design products with fashion, function and competitive advantage.  Our equipment listed below is the most flexible and versatile in the fabric industry, allowing for a full range of designer creativity.

EQUIPMENT

• Sectional warping—Designed with the latest in tension control devices, SCFTI can warp both filament and spun yarns.   Sectional warping also provides the capability for shorter production runs and the flexibility for yarns ranging from polypropylene to Kevlar.  Strict tension controls maintain the optimum in fabric warping and finished fabric quality, irrespective of yarn physical properties.
  
• Ratti twisting—Modern twisting provides the capability to design fabrics with improved tensile, tear, abrasion and other demanding physical property requirements.  With today’s luggage marketplace leaning toward longer  product warranties, fabric design demands only the best in raw material selection and preparation.
  
• Weaving—The latest in rapier weaving provides the capability for shorter production runs with minimal machine downtime, high fabric quality and maximum fabric formation capability.  Capable of multiple yarn and color insertion, we are positioned to meet any innovative idea.
