OVERVIEW
Safety Components Fabric Technologies (SCFTI), is one of the largest producers of precision military and specialty fabrics in North America.  As a leading technical fabric company, we have built a solid foundation of product quality and manufacturing diversity.  With more than 375 trained associates and equipped with the latest in fabric formation technology, SCFTI is the supplier of choice for many military and specialty fabric applications.

QUALITY
SCFTI was the first technical fabric producer in North America to become certified under both the QS9000 and ISO9002 programs.  We inspect and test all products to customer or military specification.  We continually audit our performance in all manufacturing and marketing functions to insure compliance to the highest quality standards.

PRODUCT LINE
Unlike other divisions of SCFTI, this business group produces fabrics to specific military specifications for awarded contracts.  We cooperatively design and develop products that will meet the military requirements, even if they require subsequent treatment or processing.  Several examples of military fabrics that we produce are military tent side-walls, floors and liners, Nomex flight suits, coveralls and jackets, Nylon duck, camouflage netting, truck covers and vehicle armor.

The wide array of products that we produce is an excellent representation of our fabric production capability.    We produce fabrics for anything from air bags, ballistic luggage, fireman turnout gear, aircraft escape slides, crashworthy fuel cells, oil booms, composites, Kevlar sleeves and chain saw chaps, Nomex racing suits, diaphragms and the list is endless.

MANUFACTURING
Technical fabric production requires an in-depth manufacturing flexibility and capability to manufacture products from multiple fibers.  This demands a total skill level in manufacturing and an experienced technical staff  to understand the complexities of both commodity and high-tech raw materials.  SCFTI has all the tools necessary to address any complex issue.

Additionally, we have the latest state-of-the-art machinery that complements a complex product mix.  We have sectional warping with the latest in tension controls, ultra modern ratti twisting, high speed rapier weaving, multiple finishing function from scouring to topical enhancements.

LABORATORY
Our laboratory  maintains both physical and chemical performance testing capability.  We are accredited against the requirements of ISO/IEC-17025 and have a very comprehensive scope of accreditation using consensus methods from domestic and international standards including ASTM, AATCC, NFPA, ISO, DIN, and JIS L-1096.  See our laboratory page for more details.
